QUT Library website is one of the most helpful resources for any QUT students with their study. I will show you few things that will probably be helpful for you to succeed.
If you put your cursor on the "Learn" tub, this is the menu that you see. This is where all study support websites are sitting.
If you put your cursor on the "Learn" tub, this is the menu that you see. This is where all study support websites are sitting.
First one is the Cite and Write. Cite and Write has two sections, citation section and writing section.
QUT cite shows different types of referencing styles and examples. You will see how to cite textbooks, journal articles and websites by looking at these examples. Now, keep in mind that these examples are just examples. If you are unsure of anything, go speak to your tutor or librarians!

QUT write tells you how to write report and essay. Especially the report structure on QUT write will be very useful for you if you write a lot of assignments.
Next one is the Study Solution, the 20 minutes consultation with academic advisors. If you feel you need some extra help with your assessment or time management, this is the place to go. You can get about the same help as what you get at the front desk too but the desk can be busy sometimes. This appointment will secure 20 minutes and is bookable online. You can book as many as you need but make sure you turn up to the appointment and not miss it!
Next one is STIMulate, the Maths, Science and IT drop ins. You can drop in anytime when they are open and there will be other students who get good grades to tutor you. Sometimes it can be one-on-one help or group help as it can be busy sometimes. See their web site to find out where they are located and their opening hours.
Studywell is an online resource where you can find tips of different things like understanding your tasks, note taking, and literature review. It is difficult to find these type of resources all in one place. Also some topics are available in different forms, powerpoint, video or pdf. You can look at the areas that you think you have difficulties with from home!
Next one is the Subject Guide. There are different pages under different subjects. Some refer to the particular unit but most of them refer to general topics like accounting and engineering for example. If you have no idea about, say.... "transport engineering", just visit the transport engineering Subject Guide page. There you will see the list of textbooks, useful databases and good websites to see. If you are lost with research, this is a good starting point.
Next tips is to signup for library workshops. They run various workshops for both undergrad and postgrad students. All you have to do is to log in using your student number and password, choose the workshops that you are interested of attending and register online. Be mindful that their workshops are super popular and get filled up quite fast. My advise is to just register first because you can always cancel your booking online.
The last thing I want to share is the Peer Advisors. They are students who are doing well at uni and they sit at the front desk with librarians. They wear green polo so you can recognise them straight away. They are experienced uni students and will be able to provide practical advises on your assessments or anything that you're concerned of. Great way to get help from other students!
All of these services are shown on QUT Library website, http://www.library.qut.edu.au/
